(b. 12 Nov 1930). The murder was committed at the Cavenagh Street Post Office construction site when Ioanis was struck once with a blunt instrument, most likely a concrete (Besser) block, to the right side of his head before his body was dragged behind some pallets. He worked at the site and usually arrived well before the other workers. His body was found by fellow construction worker Jose Pereira when he arrived for work around 6.30 am. No motive for the killing was discovered and his wallet containing $400 was located near the body.
