Brock's Creek - this building was built in the mid 1930's and opened in 1937. It was built in the style of many police stations at the time, Daly River, Timber Creek, Roper Bar and Wave Hill were of a very similar design. It represented a considerable improvement over the original Brocks’s Creek Police Station which was built in Adelaide River in 1884 and had been transported to Brock’s Creek in 1897. The building was therefore 53 years old when it was retired.

It was destined to have a chequered career. After the outbreak of war and the declaration of Martial Law in the top end of the Territory, the Brock’s Creek Police station was commandeered by the military to be used as a detention barracks. For the war years it became “13 Australian Detention Barracks Brock's Creek”.
